MarkerPop! Challenge #84: Anything Goes

This week's challenge is to use Copic markers or any markers found in the MarkerPop! store. I received this beautiful angel by C.C. Designs and couldn't wait to bring her to life with my Copics!

It's not visible in this photo but I applied clear Wink of Stella glitter to the wings. Why is it that we only see our boo boos after we complete the project? Do you see it? I neglected to trim that tiny piece of cardstock from the left side of the cloud :-) She is still beautiful though.
There is still time to link up your project here.  Hope you're having a great day!

"Share Handmade Kindness" ~ Week 2

Week 2 (November 9 – 15) will focus on sharing any kind of handmade kindness with anyone who works/serves in our community – anyone who provides a helpful service to us.

My project for #sharehandmadekindness goes to my postman/woman. They visit me 6 days a week, rain or shine, sleet or snow and I am thankful for their service.

The tag is from My Favorite Things. The cute envelopes are from the Neat & Tangled "Just Hello" stamp set and the sentiment is part of the Hero Arts "Happy Birthday" stamp set. For more information about the Share Handmade Kindness challenge, click on the icon at the top of this post. :-)

"Share Handmade Kindness" with Jennifer McGuire ~ Week 1

I think every one of us can agree that we love to create — cards, scrapbook pages, treats, and more. Making things by hand makes us happy. And when we share these creations with others, we also share that happiness. There’s nothing better! It’s a simple act of kindness that can brighten someone’s day and leave a lasting impression… and our world needs more kindness.
So, wouldn’t it be fun to encourage each other to turn the joy of creating into the kindness of giving? I hope you will join me here during the month of November for a “Share Handmade Kindness Challenge.” Each week throughout the month, we’ll challenge each other to share an act of handmade kindness with someone. Any act of kindness made with the hands from the heart counts! We’ll support each other in sharing these acts of handmade kindness with friends and family, children facing challenges, those who work in our communities (nurses, teachers, etc.), and complete strangers who may need a smile.
Oh, and by the way, throughout the month, I will be encouraging everyone to consider supporting The Kind Campaign, an awesome organization that is working to end bullying. I will be making donations, too!
To participate, stop by any time during the month of November. I will offer simple challenges and make it easy to be involved. You are welcome to spread the word with the hashtag #sharehandmadekindness. I hope you’ll join me in turning our joy of creating into the kindness of giving!

Week 1 (November 2 – 8) will focus on sharing any kind of handmade kindness with friends and family. This is often the easiest kindness to share, so it is a good place to start.

Lawn Fawn's "Wish you were here" stamp set was perfect for this week's challenge. Although I call my mother twice a day, I wanted to send a reminder of how much she means to me. I kept it pretty simple so all of the focus is on the sentiment. I made an extra one for my husband to send to his mother too.

I hope you will join in and be a part of the #sharehandmadekindness challenges. A big THANK YOU to Jennifer McGuire for this brilliant idea to get us crafters motivated! If you have never been to her website or blog, you really must pay her a visit. She is so talented and has tons of tutorials to share!

Lawnscaping Challenge #109 ~ Sparkle & Shine!

After 108 challenges I finally decided to jump right in and participate! Lawn Fawn has so many wonderful's tough figuring out which ones to use. The challenge was to use anything that makes your project "sparkle and shine"..........

The frame was cut using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die. The background was created with DCWV glitter paper. The planes, dots and sentiment are from the Lawn Fawn Flying By stamp set that I received from the lovely and talented Annette.  I stamped the planes with Lawn Fawn Fish Tank ink on the Lawn Fawn Beachside 6x6 paper pad. As you can see....the larger plane is doing some acrobatics (it's upside down) lol
The sweet birds and flowers are from the Lawn Fawn A Birdie Told Me Stamp/Die sets. I sponged some Lawn Fawn Wild Rose, Fake Tan & Mermaid ink onto white cardstock before I stamped the flower images.

I think it's still missing something where the hillside meets the sky so I will keep this open as a work in progress until an idea comes to me :-)

Ellen Hutson has generously offered up a $25 gift certificate to the online store!

If you are interested in entering, this challenge is accepting entries until July 15th. Good luck!

Operation Write Home Finishing Strong Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Operation Write Home Finishing Strong Blog Hop! With the help of volunteer card makers around the country, OWH has sent over THREE MILLION cards to our deployed Heroes to write home to their loved ones!!!
Operation Write Home, a charity that has supported heroes with handmade cards since 2007, will be closing later this year. August 1st is the absolute last day that OWH will accept cards so if you've been working on a box, do not hesitate to get it in the mail!

I want to give a big shout out to Sandy Allnock, founder & Executive Director of OWH.
She saw a need and made it happen. I can only imagine how many countless hours she has put into this project. Not only has she mailed 3 million cards, she has taught me how to be a better card maker. By posting card shares, tutorials, challenges and fresh ideas I have learned so much about creativity and card design. I will continue to be inspired through her personal blog. If you haven't been there you must check it out. She is the Queen of Copic Markers and has some amazing things to share so bookmark it and check it out after the hop! Thank you Sandy....for helping us grow creatively, for helping us create millions of smiles around the world but most of all for the sacrifices you have made personally to bring this to fruition. You will always Rock in my book ((hugs))

The theme for this hop is red, white and blue. I am keeping this as short as possible because I know you have a lot of hoppin' to do so if you are interested in any of the products I used, ask me in the comments and I will get back to you.

National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop!

WELCOME to the
National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop!!

You should of arrived here from Sukie, but
if you did not, you can start at Jessica in the beginning!

Today, some of the best Scrapbooking bloggers I
know teamed up to present a
blog hop to celebrate ALL us Scrapbookers
National Scrapbook Day!

Some info on National Scrapbooking Day:

Each year on the first Saturday in May, it is National Scrapbook Day.

Also known as National Scrapbooking Day, on this day thousands of people get together all over the country to celebrate with scrapbooking parties and share their talents with others.

Scrapbooking dates back to the 15th century.

As per Wikipedia: “Scrapbooking is a method for preserving personal and family history in the form of a scrapbook. Typical memorabilia include photographs, printed media, and artwork. Scrapbook albums are often decorated and frequently contain extensive journaling. Scrapbooking is a widely practiced pastime in the United States.”

Scrapbooking is a hobby of preserving memories and at the same time it provides a strong social network.

”Scrappers”, as they are called, get together and scrapbook at each others homes, local scrapbook stores, scrapbooking conventions, retreat centers and have even gone on cruises.  Together they share tips and ideas and enjoy the social outlet.

Scrapbookers are often referred to as "Paper Hoarders".

How about those journaling tidbits facts???

Now, enough with the facts, lets get to the good stuff!

Today, we have two Sponsors!

Our first sponsor is:

a Free Mini Stamp set with EVERY SIZE order in her

Winners will be announced on Wednesday on
both Sponsor Blogs!

Now, who's ready to celebrate with some

Let's get to hopping!!!
One of my sweetest memories is when I would sing "You Are My Sunshine" to my son and he would join in. I created this layout and sunbeam using the Cricut Artbooking cartridge. The title is from the Paper Piecings by Nikki "You are my sunshine" stamp set and I added verses of the song (created in Word) in the 2 smaller spaces.

This is was page 2 of my layout. :-(
I left the room for just a second and when I returned.....had an awesome paper jam in my Cricut, turned it off and back on to reset and now my paper/mat won't load. Any suggestions??

Thanks so much for stopping by to celebrate National Scrapbook Day with us! I have a little something up for grabs to show my appreciation. Leave a comment here and check back on Wednesday to see if you were the winner!
Congratulations to lucky #5 ~ KATY

OWH - ODBD March Challenge

The March challenge for Our Daily Bread Designs is to make the sentiment the main focus of your card. I love this stamp from Neat and Tangled. I heat embossed each of them to add a little dimension to these otherwise clean and simple cards.

Picture Perfect Blog Hop

Welcome to the Picture Perfect Blog Hop! We encourage you to take a moment this week to print out those precious memories that are stored away in our phones and computers. With digital photography, I have taken tons of pictures but am so far behind on my scrapbooking. Printing them off will not only preserve them but encourage me to go ahead and tell the story of my life events.

In appreciation of your visit today, I am giving away this little bundle of blog candy! Simply visit, comment and follow each of the blogs below to be entered to win! Check back right here on this post Wednesday March 18th to see if you are the winner!
Congratulations to lucky #2! Please email your mailing address to! Thank you all for hopping along with us.
This is a picture from our 2010! The map shows all the places we visited during our cruise. I think I will go back and add a dot to each of the ports.
When it comes to scrapbooking, I want to showcase as many photos as I can with a smidge of journaling on the side. These photos are from our camping 2011....told ya I was behind :-) The layouts aren't complete but least I have started the process! That's always the hardest part. I used the computer to create tags with descriptions about the canyon and I will add my hand written journaling at a later date.
The trees, compass and titles were cut with my Cricut and the stars were created with a border punch.

I added some red Stickles to the flame for that realistic effect.
Technically, I think they call this GLAMPing lol
I bet we walked 20 miles up and down hill unloading everything at the camp site. Yes.....we had to lug it down! We had a blast though and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! If you have any suggestions of what I could add to finish these layouts off, I would love to hear them.
And lastly, if you have some random pictures that really don't need to be scrapbooked, make some greeting cards!

Thank you so much for taking the time to hop with us today. Your next stop is Theresa.                   See below for the complete lineup:
