Felicity's Be a Blessing Hop ~

(What a sweet angel baby)
Welcome to Felicity's Be A Blessing Blog Hop!! Today we are celebrating a very special little girl's first birthday. She has had a difficult fight this past year and we felt what better way to celebrate her life than have a blog hop! Felicity has touched many lives even though she is not even one yet. Every day she makes therapists, doctors, and even her family smile. The purpose of this hop is to be a blessing. So the way to win our blog candy will be for you to be a blessing to someone around you. Then photograph how you have been a blessing with either a craft project or taking a meal to someone, etc. Share it with us and that gives you an extra entry besides leaving comments on all the hop stops. If you arrived from Stacey then you are in the right place. If not please go back to the beginning at Shawnee's blog and make sure you don't miss all the amazing ways my friends have chosen to bless others.

Blog candy for this hop is one paper pack and April Showers Cricut Cartridge.
There are three ways to earn blog candy
1. Leave a comment on each blog
2. Come back and post how you blessed someone else with a link.
3. Tweet/Facebook about the blog hop

This is an update on my January 11, 2013 blog post:
While Christmas shopping, I passed Jo~Ann's twice saying to myself "so what if I have a coupon...I do not NEED 1 thing". After all, I was on a mission to finish checking off my to do list. My car had a mind of its own because I ended up stopping anyway. As I was checking out, a little lady came in with a piece of paper in hand. I heard her asking if they had someone that could cross stitch something for her. As the salesperson explained that they didn't offer that service, I was struggling mentally...should I say anything? My mother taught me to cross stitch 36 years ago so I have experience but not enough hours in the day. I took my change and receipt and as I walked past her, something made me turn around and offer my services. It was a simple saying that she later explained meant everything to her son. She wanted it to go in his office and had been searching for 5 years for someone to make it. As she told me about the saying, tears came to her eyes.....and then of course to mine. She offered to pay me for my time but I wouldn't hear of it. This was my chance to "give back" and I didn't need anything in return. I began the project in January and delivered it to her in March along with 2 cards which contained the beloved sentiment.
I didn't have a pattern to go by so it's not perfect. When my husband and I presented it to her, she cried again and said she considered me to be her friend. I didn't show her the cards, I simply left them in the bag. When I returned home, I had an email thanking me for the cards that were her "very own" to send to someone special.

Don't forget to hop and bless someone today!! Thanks so much for joining us!!

Green is Good Blog Hop ~

Something recycled, something re-purposed, whether it’s a milk jug turned in to a scoop, or a tin can made in to a pencil holder. Maybe your kids planted some trees to help the environment, or maybe you did. There are tons of ways to get greener in everyday life. Today we are showing off our creations to celebrate Earth Day 2013. If you’re just starting here make sure to head over to the beginning at My Life in Arts’ n Crafts’. I hear she’s giving away some goodies!
I love the concept of turning trash into treasures. I have acquired quite a collection of discarded containers, etc to work with....it was hard to decide which one to go with for this hop!
I started out with the silver liner that seals my coffee can. I had seen tutorials of embossing on aluminum foil so I thought I would give it a go! I used the Spellbinders Picot Edge & Standard Circles dies and ran it through my Grand Calibur. I had to run it through a couple of times because there appeared to be another layer like plastic wrap in the foil. It was going to be impossible to punch out those little pieces around the edge.
The star image is from the Dare 2B Artsy My Hero stamp set using Hero Arts Hero Hues Punch chalk ink. The sentiment is from the Dare 2B Artsy Missing You and Thinking of You stamp sets using Stampabilities Royal Blue dye ink. These stamps are wonderful and Dare 2B Artsy has some really cute "must haves". Take a minute to check them out after the hop!
The star paper is part of The Paper Studio 4 Seasons collection. The gems are from Forever in Time.
This "Any Hero" card was made for Operation Write Home.
I made a crayon container with the coffee can using some Spongebob Squarepants images from Bing and a Spellbinders Labels One die. The paper is from The Paper Studio 180 Paper Pack and Glossy Accents were added to the rainbow.
I need to go back and really secure those edges a little better. With 5 and 1 year old grandchildren, I don't see those staying glued for long lol!

What child doesn't love gummy worms? Yes, I had to test one to be sure they were fresh. Needless to say.....I only tasted ONE!! lol I used a jar that bouillon cubes come in. The image is from Bing, the sentiment I made up and the paper is from The Paper Studio A Day at the Beach. All images were colored with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.
I have BLOG CANDY up for grabs to 1 lucky follower! Leave a comment and check back right here Thursday 4/25/13 to see if you are the winner!
Congratulations to Lucky #7 ~ AJ!!!

Playing Catch Up ~

The hummingbirds have arrived and that means summer is almost here! Hope to be spending more time outdoors enjoying the warmer weather. Here are a few cards that I managed to finish lately. Hope you enjoy them!

Hello! It's been over a year since I posted on my blog. With the dissolution of Operation Write Home, I kind of lost my joy in creating...
