Grillin' & Chillin' BBQ Hop ~

Hi there! Have the days gotten shorter? I swanny I don't know where the time has gone. Meanwhile, my scrapbooking projects keep piling up so I thought I would take this opportunity to begin catching up. It has been so long, I think I forgot how. I was mo-jo-less! Anyhoo, my husband and personal chef LOVES to grill out/smoke every chance he gets. He lives and breathes BBQ (kinda like me and papercrafting) so I created a layout to honor this oh so wonderful man.

He has lots of foodie friends on FB and they all share photos/recipes so I had no problem finding pictures to choose from. I will add the journaling in the space next to the tree and move that little picture up a bit...I think...
Yes, those are boiled eggs wrapped in sausage! I think they are called Scotch Eggs. Yummy! When dinner is ready....he ALWAYS says "come n get it"! lol Am I not the luckiest gal in the world?

I bought these tiny silverware pieces at Hobby Lobby in the doll house accessory dept because I ju…

OWH Sketch #180 & Paper Smooches ~

Sketch #180 ~
I thought I would use this sketch for Any Hero cards. With every OWH box sent, they include notes of encouragement for our Heroes. I also have stamp sets that are feeling neglected so I thought I would begin trying to use every stamp in the set for the challenges. Today's spotlight is on Paper Smooches and the Circle of Honor Stamp Set.

Paper: DCWV - The Boyhood Stack Ink: Hero Arts Chalk Ink - Punch, Stampabilities Dye Ink - Royal Blue
Star Stickers: 4th of July Crafts - Hobby Lobby
Crafter's Cord: Hemptique - Americana (very coarse - would recommend twine instead)
Dimensional Adhesive, Googly Eye

Wasn't quite sure what to do with the banners since they were smaller than the sentiments but I was determined to use EVERY stamp in the set. LOL Here is what I came up with.

The red paper border was created with an attachment that came with my trimmer
Blue Lattice Paper - The Paper Studio - The Basics
Star Stickers: 4th of July Crafts - Hobby Lobby
Smiley Faces: P…

OWH ODBD July Challenge - Stitching ~

Our friends over at Our Daily Bread Designs make a shipping donation every month based on the number of cards in the InLinkz (only one entry per person) – ODBD will sponsor one large box of cards for every 25 cards linked to the challenge post, with a maximum of 2 boxes per month. We had 54 cards linked during the month of June. Our heroes will be very excited to know they are getting 2 boxes shipped courtesy of ODBD again this month. The challenge for July is to make a card with stitching ~ real or faux.

Cricut Create a Critter 2 Cartridge (horse)
Paper: DCWV Citrus Stack
Martha Stewart Scissors (grass); Fiskars Punch (small clouds)
Hero Arts Stamp Sets - My Hero (sentiment) & Happy Birthday (Cloud)
Heidi Grace Fabric Stickers (butterfly)
Googly Eyes, Scor Tape, Dimensional Adhesive
I used a brown pencil to create the stitching around the horse and dimensional adhesive on the clouds.
I think this image is from Art Impressions but I couldn't find it on their site. I used a…

For information about the LTL Prints Facebook contest and OWH ~ Click here!  Thanks for stopping by. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to create the brick background. The sentiment is from the Dare 2B  Artsy - Thinking of You stamp set with Hero Arts Chalk ink.
The banner was hand cut and using the Hero Arts Chalk ink and I combined the following stamp sets:
Sentiment - Interior: Dare 2B Artsy - Missing You Stamp Set
Sentiment - Front: Dare 2B Artsy - Thinking of You Stamp Set
The star ribbon is from Wal-Mart.

OWH Sketch 177, 178 & 179 ~

Sometimes I get so caught up in being creative, I don't want to take time to complete my blog posts. I would love to throw the pictures in there and get back to being productive but I know when I visit other blogs, I enjoy seeing what materials they used or learning about a new technique. So....let's get started!
OWH Sketch #179

When fussy cutting an image, it's best to hold your scissors straight and rotate the image as needed ~ A tip I learned from the OWH executive director, Sandy Allnock. If you haven't checked out the 100+ OWH tutorials, you don't know what you're missing!
Paper: Recollections - Bold Basics Image: Stampabilities - Peanuts: Eating Ice Cream (You can use licensed images for OWH cards if they are made for paper crafting but you cannot use licensed images printed from the internet, etc.)
Sentiment: My Favorite Things - Straight from the Carton Stamp set ( I cut the stamp in half to make it fit in the space needed - another great tip from San…
