I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving

OWH Mid Week Throwdown & Thanks to the Postal Workers

This week's MWT was to use dry embossing. I used a scroll embossing folder on the red cardstock. The image is our infamous OWH mascot Ciara from Stamper's Best and the sentiment is from SRM Stickers.
Sandy is on a mission to bring her postal workers in Federal Way, WA lots and lots of cards thanking them for their service so I thought a patriotic Ciara was the perfect choice! What a nice idea to show them how much they are appreciated!! Only a few days left to get them in so hurry!! :-) You can view the mail room challenge request below...

Can you believe you get ALL of this for $5? That's like a cup of Starbucks coffee and 70% of the proceeds will be donated to Operation Write Home! How cool is that?

Here is the OWH sketch challenge for this week.

These images and sentiments are so perfect for OWH cards! Hope you take a minute to stop in and see more of what The Doodle Pantry has to offer to help us with creativity! Have a great day!

OWH Sketch 197 & the November ODBD Challenge ~

Love cards with no "Valentines" reference can be used year 'round ~ No expiration date :-)
Paper: Martha Stewart Holidays Punch Pad
Sentiments: The Paper Studio Stickers
Sketch: OWH #197
Our Daily Bread Designs Nov Challenge: Love/Valentine cards

I trimmed all of the patterned paper pieces with no regard to the direction of the pattern so I had to wing it and adhere them vertically instead of horizontally. It appears that I missed a layer too. Why is it you don't see these things until it's ready to post??  They still turned out ok I think lol.
Thanks for stopping by ~ Hope you have a great day!

OWH Sketch 196, Mid Week Throwdown & Any Hero Cards ~

The adorable little turtle & sentiment can be found in The Doodle Pantry store. The scalloped edge is a Spellbinder die and the ribbon is from The Paper Studio.

Here's our awesome OWH mascot, Ciara! You can find her in the Stamper's Best store.  Papers for the next 4 cards came from The Paper Studio - Proud to Serve pack.

Saluting images were cut using the Stand & Salute Cricut cartridge. Sentiment - MFT Stamps
The dog tag and star were cut from shiny silver paper with the Stand & Salute Cricut cartridge

To create the quilt, I used a Fiskars star punch, DCWV Stack 8 paper and a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Quite time consuming but I think the end result is worth it!
I stopped at the Shell station for gas yesterday. I always listen to American Family Radio in the morning to get my day started off just right. I noticed a man in uniform in the store. When he cam out his truck happened to be on the other side of my pump. I leaned around the corner and thanked him for his service. Glancing at his name badge...it said Christ. It was a touching moment coming in contact with a real Hero and being able to say "I saw Christ today".  Hope you have a blessed day!
