Center Step Card Blog Hop ~

Hello and welcome to my 1st ever attempt at making a center step card! It only took 3 tries but I think I got it!! If this is new to you too....there's a great picture tutorial here and a video tutorial here.
There is a $20 gift certificate from our hostess up for grabs to Michael's or Joann's (who couldn't use that?) so be sure to comment on all blogs throughout the hop beginning with Ashley!

Ummm yeah....this is how NOT to do it ~ Had to share my failed attempt
I think I got it this time!
Ta Daaaaaa!  I left the misplaced embossing powder on there in hopes of creating a magic pixie dust effect but that didn't go as planned lol
It's not perfect but that gives me a goal to focus on. For best results, I would suggest using a thicker cardstock
The witch and moon are from the Celebrate with Flourish Cricut cartridge and cut at 3".  The polka dot paper is from The Paper Studio Four Seasons, the sentiment is Inkadinkadoo Marker Sketch Halloween stamps, Viva Decor pearl pen, green embossing powder, gems, pop dots and ribbon are from my stash.
Speaking of stash, since Halloween is growing near, I would love to share some of my "treats" with one of my "sweet" followers so be sure to leave a comment. I will choose a winner on Sunday, 9/30/12 and announce it right here in this very spot.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and left such sweet comments that made me smile. I'm looking forward to retuning the favor and visiting each of your blogs. Random.Org chose #26 which was Melissa! Please send your mailing address to msmith38652@gmail.com

I appreciate the time you took to stop in today. Your next stop in the hop is Jamie!
If you need to start at the beginning....that would be our wonderful hostess ~ Ashley!
Thanks again Ashley for helping me step outside of my rectangular comfort zone! What's next???

I love Halloween......the beginning of fall, falling leaves and wonderful holidays!
This is my 1st SIX layer card! I must say, it's one of my favorites! Can't wait to try this using different patterned papers.
I love this DCWV self adhesive Glitter paper. I used pop dots after 3 layers so the next 3 would stand out a bit.  The super adorable witch digi is a freebie from Sherri Baldy Art She was colored with Spectrum Noir markers, fussy cut and applied with pop dots. Other products used include: Sticky Trims ribbon (1 strip of black and 1 strip of purple layered on top of each other), Stickles in gold and green, Fiskars Halloween Fun Stickers
I'm still learning the coloring techniques so don't look too long at this close up ~ LOL

Cut It Up ~ Anything Goes Challenge

Welcome to the very 1st challenge from Cut It Up!! I was so excited to hear about this site that encourages you to create using your die cut machine. My sweet mother gave me a Cricut Expression for my birthday (9/11) last year. I have used it a lot but I do not consider myself an expert by any means! There are many "hit and misses" because the settings differ depending on what type of material (paper, vinyl, fabric) you are using and how detailed the image is. (I have some "cheat sheets" under the "Good to Know" tab). Cut It Up challenges will give me the inspiration to master my machine!!! LOL
This challenge is "Anything Goes" so you can make anything as long as it has a die cut on it. The challenge is open to anyone and runs from September 7-19. There is a prize up for grabs to all who link up their project and some awesome ideas from the design team which you can see here.

My grandson invited me to have cookies and milk....for breakfast....with his kindergarten class so I started a layout for his scrapbook.
Gavin and his teacher "Miss Penny"
I think it would be best to use a gel pen instead of a marker to outline. AS you can see the marker ink bled and it's just a mess....or I guess I could say I was going for the "rustic" look lol

Die Cuts Used:
Cricut - My World = 3"school house & 3" tree
Cricut - Plantin Schoolbook = 2" ABC & 3/4" grass
Cricut - Lovely Floral = 2-1/2" frame
Cricut - Block Party = 3/4" dog
Spellbinders - Labels Three & Blossom Two

Other Supplies:
Paper - TPS The Basics & Simplicity, DCWV Harvest Gathering & Latte
Colorbok - Glitsy Arrows
Ranger Stickles - Yellow
Ranger Liquid Pearls - Baby Blue
Peachy Keen Stamp - Everyday Character
Doodlebug Design - Twine
Spectrum Noir Markers - IG6, GB5, BT1, BT2, CG2
Pop Dots, Wooden Skewer (for the pencil),

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you will join in on the challenges so I can see your ideas too! I can't wait to see what they have in store for us next! Happy Crafting
