Cricut Craft Room - February Challenge

Image
This can be a 6x6, 8x8, or 12x12 Scrapbook page. The 'star' can be ANY type of Cricut cut, character, flower, etc... The rectangles do NOT have to be pictures, they can be cricut cuts.
You must use Gold and White, and one other color of your choice. Our general theme for the month of February is LUCK! It can be St. Patrick's Day, Good Luck, Rainbow, Vegas.....etc.  This month's winner will get a $20 gift certificate to my webstore.   www.shop.ericascraftroom.com

This was certainly a challenge because Gold is one color I rarely use. It was fun stepping outside of the box though!

This was the 1st picture I saw of Mr. Wonderful on Cupid.com. He asked to see a photo of me and I sent my baby picture LOL. He didn't say a "recent" picture. LUCK certainly played a role because he said he never responded to anyone that didn't have a picture on their profile. I am so glad he did!! We became a couple 8/13/06, got engaged 8/13/08 and married 8/13/10 XoXoXo

Flower Soft Technique

Image
Looking for some advice please ~ I received this awesome Flower Soft (Baby Peach) and Flower Soft Glue from scrappingstamping.com. My 1 and only attempt....failed. I stamped the flower image with VersaMark and embossed with pink embossing powder. I then added glue to 1 petal, applied the Flower Soft and pressed firmly. Allowing ample time to dry, most of the Flower Soft came off leaving gaps in the petal. I wish I would have taken an "after" photo before throwing it away. Did I use too much Flower Soft and not enough glue? If you have used this product, I would love to know your thoughts ~ Thanks!

This is the photo I took prior to shaking off the excess.

Storage Options

Image
My sweet hubby is on the road.... a lot.... with his job as an auditor with Payless and he was working at a store that happened to have a Michael's next door. We don't have one of those around here. Being the awesomely, wonderful man that he is, he stopped in and found all of these items at 40% off! It was like Christmas in January!! This also allowed us to have quality time putting these little babies together! LOLOL  It wasn't too bad though. The instructions had pictures so we were able to muddle through!  Almost finished with the craft room so I will be posting the "after" pics once I get everything hung back on the walls. It is such a happy place with my blue walls! Ladies, next time you have a Payless Shoe Source in your sites....please stop in....buy lots of stuff (shoes, socks, jewelry, handbags, smelly goods like lotion, perfume, etc) so I can continue supporting my hobby/habit/obsession!

The Sweet Shop Sketch Challenge

Image
When I came across this challenge, I went with the 1st thought that came to mind....Arlington National Cemetery. We visited Arlington last year and the quiet, stillness of the entire place was a feeling I will never forget. So many lives, so many families affected. God Bless to those who have given their all and those who are currently serving in the US Armed Forces!

Copic vs Spectrum Markers

Image
I have studied and researched Copic markers for months but couldn't justify the expense. I learned through the StampingScrapping yahoo group about Spectrum Noir ~ You can get the whole set for $114.99 with free shipping from StampingScrapping.com! These markers are compatible with Copics as well! Here is a video demonstrating the markers http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=spectrum+noir+markers&view=detail&mid=C41E89A357FC1DB50331C41E89A357FC1DB50331&first=0&FORM=LKVR2

Here is the comparison review that sold me

Hey everyone.  Glad my review has inspired some folks to try these out.  One woman, Joan, asked me if they could be used with Copics, as she has already invested in a few of them.  Since I did not know the answer, I did a little test last night.   Attached is a scan of my test.  Let me say up front though - I am NOT an artist, do not really do much blending if I can avoid it.  I just love to color and always loved the way the Copics just got such a big space co…
